Scope of the journal

The journal will publish histopathological, clinical and radiological findings of import in the field of Head and Neck Pathology, as well as ethical and social concerns, case reports of interest, pathogenesis, and molecular pathways implicated in pathogenesis. Preference will be given to articles with clinical relevance and significance.

Journal Ethics

At all phases of the publication process, the Journal/Association is committed to fulfilling and upholding ethical standards. In order to meet these requirements, we closely follow industry associations like the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), and the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME), which set standards and provide guidelines for best practices.

Articles published online under the Ahead of Print model are considered published and can be cited and quoted using the DOI as the reference source. A policy states that no changes will be made after an article has been published unless they are done in accordance with approved processes for correcting the scientific record.

Editorial process and Peer review policy

All research articles, and most other article types, published by MM Publishers undergo peer review. This usually involves review by at least two independent, blinded, expert peer reviewers; refer to the specific journal's page for details.

All submissions to our journals are first reviewed for completeness and only then sent to be assessed by an Editor who will decide whether they are suitable for peer review. Where an Editor is on the author list or has any other competing interest regarding a specific manuscript, another member of the Editorial Board will be assigned to oversee peer review.

Editors will consider the peer-reviewed reports when making a decision, but are not bound by the opinions or recommendations therein. A concern raised by a single peer reviewer or the Editor themself may result in the manuscript being rejected. Authors receive peer review reports with the editorial decision on their manuscript.
